I began a career in dentistry in 1994 after attending Apollo College Dental Assisting program and started as an Orthodontic Assistant, then briefly became Co-owner and Manager of a local dental practice. I also have a passion for skincare and maintain my license in Aesthetics. I grew up in San Jose, CA with my mother and spent many summers in AZ to visit with my father on the Indian Reservation. I eventually moved back to Arizona after high school and have raised my family here. When I'm not marketing I'm enjoying family gatherings, revamping recycled antiques, and practicing yoga.
I began my career in dentistry right out of high school in 1998 as a Dental Assistant. I became a Registered Dental Hygienist after attending El Paso Community College and received my Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from Columbia University. I also hold a certification in anesthesia and laser. After moving here from El Paso Texas for work, I knew this would be my forever home. When I'm not caring for my patients, you will find me diligently reading toward a goal of 40 books a year as well as being a soccer and theater mom. I also enjoy Broadway shows and tacos.
Originally, I am from Michigan, which is where my career as a Registered Dental Hygienist began in 2011. Since graduating from Kalamazoo Valley Community College I have gained experience not only as a Dental Hygienist, but as a receptionist, insurance specialist and dental staffing coordinator. In 2014, my husband and I decided we wanted to trade cold Michigan winters for Arizona sunshine and mountains! We have since lived in Chandler and couldn’t be happier. I hold local anesthesia and laser certifications in addition to current CRP training and exceptional competency in Radiology. When I am not enjoying my patients, you can find me chasing our boy and girl twins, walking our two dogs, or hiking with the family.
I began my dental career in 1975, received my Assisting Certification at Maricopa Tech Community College and attended Phoenix College for general studies. When I was eight years old my fathers’ work transferred the family to Arizona from Texas. When I'm not assisting the doctor, I enjoy an active lifestyle with running, hiking, reaping and going to the gym along with taking cruises and traveling to Rocky Point.
Born in Page, Mell is an Arizona native and a rock star in our hygiene department. She began working with the Centre for Progressive Dentistry in 2004 after graduating from White Mountain School for Dental Assisting in 2000. As many of our patients can attest, she is an x-ray wizard and has been certified by the Dental Assisting National Board. Family is important to Mell, whether it’s her work family (including patients – you mean a lot to her!) or her husband and three beautiful sons. She is also close to her sisters and enjoys the time she gets to spend with them. In her free time, Mell enjoys running the mountain. She is also learning sign language with her hearing impaired son.
My dental adventure began 25 years ago after I graduated as dental assistant in Gilroy California. After 14 years of being an assistant I transitioned to the front office where I still enjoy the “magic” of seeing the transformation of peoples smiles. Outside of my dental family I have two beautiful children whom are the best thing that ever happened to me. I enjoy every stage of their wonderful life. I like long walks, a little running here and there, but I especially enjoy dancing! Love meeting new people and learning new things. I look forward to all the great things in mine and my children’s life that are still to come!
After a few years as General Manager for an ice rink here in the valley, I found myself in the dental field. I was fortunate to start my dental management career with a cosmetic restoration and implant specialist. It gave me a chance to experience a wide range of dental treatment and concerns. I am extremely fascinated by the human body . I absolutely love everything I have learned over the past few years. I am always happy to help our patients better understand their dental treatment and how to best utilize their dental benefits. I am a huge advocate for technology and also pleased to help integrate it in our office. When I am not at the office, you can find me at one of the valley’s many ice rinks with my son. My husband and I spend most of our family time on trips to watch our son play both ice and roller hockey. We are also active in both the Buddhist and Veteran communities in Arizona
